Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today praised Malaysians who have become much more aware of the need for social distancing.

Sharing his observation on Twitter, the prime minister who was pictured wearing a face mask and gloves said he went out shopping at a supermarket here today and did his own monitoring of the daily necessities that were available there.

“This morning I went down to a supermarket in Kuala Lumpur to find a few things while looking at the practices of the people there.

“Alhamdulillah, many are aware of the need for social distancing. The groceries are plenty, so we don't have to panic,” he shared in a status upload on his social media account.

The government had previously assured that the food supply and basic needs of the people were sufficient and that there was no need for the people to go panic-buying.
