Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) Football Club owner, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim can win the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president's post uncontested if he wants to lead the football body.

Melaka United Soccer Association (MUSA) deputy president Datuk Mohd Yusof Mahadi said the Tunku Mahkota of Johor (TMJ) is the best candidate for the hot seat when elections are held at FAM's 51st Congress in March next year.

"However, the TMJ is adamant about not contesting and wants Home Ministry former secretary-general Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat for the FAM president's post, but some affiliates disagree.

"I am confident that all state affiliates will support the TMJ but if Aseh is the candidate, a contest for the post cannot be avoided," he added.
