Entrepreneur who will be named for Ernst and Young plays an important role in the global job creation.

According to the Global Market Development Ernst and Young Deputy Chairman, Maria Pinelli, within three years, the 49 entrepreneurs who competed for the Ernst and Young World Entrepreneur of The Year in Monte Carlo has added more than 40 percent of new hires.

Pinelli made the statement during the induction of 49 winners of Ernst and Young World Entrepreneur of The Year.

According to her, the interesting part is that all 49 winners earn more than US$ 40 billion (RM123.34 billion).

For this year, Managing Director of QL Resources, Dr Chia Song Kun will be representing Malaysia.

According to Dr Chia, he is very proud to represent Malaysia in this prestigious event.

"I'm very honored and proud to represent Malaysia to the WEOY. I will try my best in these few days to win it. It's a challenge, but I will try my best, "said Dr Chia.

Winners from various categories and countries will be sending their representatives for the discussion sessions beginning Thursday.

These include Entrepreneur of the Year for 2008, Tan Sri AK Nathan from Eversendai and Winner for the Women Category Award 2002, Datuk Hazimah Zainuddin from Hyrax Oil.
