Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Sunday will join other Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders at the APEC Economic Leaders' Retreat scheduled for 9am. (10pm Malaysian time).

The APEC leaders are also slated to have an informal dialogue with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing-Director Christine Lagarde as she holds presentation on global economic perspectives.

Najib, who arrived in the Peruvian capital on Friday, and other leaders of the 21 APEC member economies are convening in Peru for the two-day APEC leaders' meeting, the main event of the APEC meet, beginning Saturday (Nov 19) to reshape globalisation and trade policies.

The APEC 2016 Leaders's Declaration will be adopted at the end of the meeting.

Established in 1989, Apec is an economic, trade and investment forum among 21 Pacific Rim countries.

It is made up of Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam. - BERNAMA
