At least ten people have been killed in a huge fire triggered by a boiler explosion at a packaging factory in Bangladesh, police said Saturday, warning the death toll would rise.

"We've got confirmation of at least 10 dead. But the toll will go up as the fire is still not under control," police inspector Sirajul Islam told AFP.

Around 100 people were working when flames tore through the four-storey factory following an explosion in the boiler room at the building in the industrial town of Tongi, just north of the capital Dhaka.
