The Malaysian government should set up a negotiation team that will profer lasting solutions in ensuring the safety of its citizens in North Korea as well as to expedite the efforts to bring them home.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the establishment should involve external body with the capacity to manage the negotiation between the two countries.

He also reminded the government to be cautious in managing the issue to avoid the issue to escalate.

“The government should control the issue as best as possible and it must be wise in its dealings with North Korea.

“It is best to be thorough, perhaps there are other ways to diffuse the issue, avoid raising the tense.

“Are other quarters helping us, international bodies such as the United Nations or those with such roles,” he told reporters at a Press conference at the PPBM headquarters, here today.

Muhyiddin also voiced his concern over unforeseen mistakes that would heighten the crisis and expose Malaysia to threat from the community nation.

“We know their way in managing international relations, at times, they defy normal convention.

“We need to be worries of if we’re not alert or careful or overlook, it happens, and irreversible, so the implication is huge,” he said.
