Over 250 film executives contributed to the report, each naming up to 10 favorite unproduced scripts.

An annual institution since 2004, The Black List has turned up a number of highly acclaimed feature films.

For 2015's list, it was "Bubbles" that garnered the most votes, with 44 mentions.

Mystery novelist Isaac Adamson wrote the treatment, which is about the life of pop star Michael Jackson from the perspective of his pet Bubbles the Chimp.

Also well admired was Boston marathon bombing biopic "Stronger" (40 mentions), co-written by Scott Silver of "8 Mile," "The Fighter" and "The Finest Hours.

French-based political drama "The Libertine" and a true story from Major League Baseball, "Rocket," both accrued 37 mentions.
