KUALA LUMPUR:Hulu Kinta State Assemblyman (ADUN) from PKR, Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad has expressed his willingness to cooperate with political enemies which he considers better than sitting with a coalition of groups that are considered traitors.

"The issue here is to restore the people's mandate. Therefore, to restore the people's mandate, (it requires) cooperation with other parties and to serve the people.

"In my opinion, it is better that we cooperate with the enemy than traitors, the people also know who the enemy and traitors are," he told Astro AWANI.

He said the stand had been voiced out and would be finalised at the PKR central leadership level.

The Perak Pakatan Harapan (PH) government collapsed after four state assemblymen from Bersatu supported the formation of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government with Pas and UMNO with 32 seats to form a new state government.

Meanwhile, Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming said in the interest of the people, PH was ready to work with any party that can help form a multi-racial, strong and stable government.

"I am open to constructive discussions and we are ready," he said in a WhatsApp message shared with the media today.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Perak Amanah, Datuk Asmuni Awi said PH's priority now was to look after the interests of the people who have suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We will not join UMNO. Amanah and PH are ready to work with any party, including UMNO to form a strong and stable government in Perak,” he said.
