The prime minister should not be pushed into making a statement on the implementation ofhududin Kelantan, says Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan.

He said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak should be allowed to listen to all views before making a statement as it was an important decision for the country.

"I don’t think he (Najib) should rush into making a statement based on what he feels as he must also listen to views from the people, including those in Sabah and Sarawak, NGOs (non-governmentalorganisations), non-malaysand theulama," he told reporters after delivering a keynote speech at What Youth Should Know conference here today.

As for the Cabinet, he said the matterwas being discussedwhere all members had contributed their views and ideas onhudud.

Earlier in his speech, Abdul Rahman said although there were some issues going on in the country, no one should allow the voices of extremism to prevailandthat voices of moderation must be heard.
