PUTRAJAYA: The 80 per cent discount for the Road Transport Department's (JPJ) summons compound, initially scheduled to end today, has been extended until Dec 31.

JPJ in a statement today said the extension was given due to the public's encouraging response to the offer of 80 per cent discount on the summons in conjunction with the 100-Day Keluarga Malaysia Aspirations programme.

JPJ recorded a collection of summons payments totalling RM4,126,938 through 81,146 summons payment transactions in the period from Dec 9 until yesterday.

It involved 68,953 transactions through the payment counters and Mobile JPJ channel while the rest were 1,080 transactions (via kiosks) and 11,113 (online).

JPJ said the discount on the summons was valid for all JPJ Summons Notices that could be compounded except for cases that had reached the courts including those issued with arrest and trial warrants.

"Blacklisted traffic offenders are required to appear in person at the JPJ counter for the purpose of re-documentation before enjoying the summons discount.

"The summons payment facility involves all counters at the JPJ offices nationwide including kiosks, JPJ Mobile and at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) from 8 am to 5 pm (including weekends).

"The payment can also be made through the mySIKAP JPJ portal (https://public.jpj.gov.my/)," it said.
