KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today launched MAIWP Strategic Plan 2021-2025 and Manfaat Kewangan Asnaf virtually.

In his pre-recorded speech, Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed his disappointment for not being able to attend the ceremony after being advised by the doctors to rest.

"Even though I am far away, my heart and soul remain with the people I love, especially in a noble effort to spread the light of Islam and help those in need," said His Majesty.

The ceremony, which was attended by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Idris Ahmad and Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) chairman Tan Sri Mohd Daud Bakar, was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here today.

Al-Sultan Abdullah also prayed that the strategic plan and financial benefits initiative would be a success.

The MAIWP Strategic Plan 2021-2025 and Manfaat Kewangan Asnaf are efforts to preserve the service delivery system and management of zakat funds as well as to channel assistance to the needy.
