The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) has fixed the maximum price for 13 controlled items as part of its 2014 Chinese New Year Festival Price Control Scheme.

According to an announcement on its official portal, the scheme is effective from Sunday Jan 26 until Feb 9.

The scheme will be implemented for 15 days - three before the festival, during and nine days after the festival.

The 13 controlled items are:

* Live chicken

* Standard chicken (slaughtered and cleaned, with head, feet, liver, gizzard and other parts)

* Super chicken (slaughtered and cleaned without feet, head, liver and gizzard

*Chicken egg grade A (weighing between 65.0 grammes and 69.9 grammes each)

*Chicken egg grade B (weighing between 60.0 grammes and 64.9 grammes each)

*Chicken egg grade C (weighing between 55.0 grammes and 59.9 grammes each)

*Imported round cabbage (from Indonesia and China, not including from Beijing)

*Garlic from China

*White pomfret (weighing between 200 grammes to 400 grammes each)

*Large white prawns (between 41 to 60 pieces per kilogramme)

*Live pig

*Pork belly

*Pork and lard
