Blood donors can now go to hospitals and clinics near their homes from 10 am to 10 pm with immediate effect despite being under the Movement Control Order (MCO).

According to Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the decision was made after it was found that the supply of the National Blood Centre had decreased since the MCO came into force last month.

"Today's meeting was informed that the blood supply in the National Blood Centre has decreased by 33 per cent since the implementation of the MCO.

"The National Blood Centre has sought permission to operate and allow the movement of donors to donate blood," he said at a press conference here today.
