The Ministry of Transport will close its media centre used by local and international press at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) for the coverage on the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH370 flight, effective April 8.

According to a statement issued by the Transport Ministry, the last day of operation will be on Monday, April 7.

“All press releases (if there are) from April 8, 2014, onwards will be emailed directly to the media via email addresses which have been provided to the media centre.

“In any occasion there is a need for a press conference, the media will be invited with due notice,” the statement said.

The media centre was opened by the Transport Ministry since the first day flight MH370 went missing en route to Beijing to Kuala Lumpur.

It was first at Sama-Sama Hotel in Sepang but moved to PWTC beginning March 23 following the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
