Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was impressed with a live auction at the launching of the Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) Malaysia here Friday.

At the event, Najib and the Founder/ Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group Jack Ma auction off replica ship made of 24 carat gold called "Sail of Fortune" via tmall.com, an Alibaba subsidiary.

The replica was sold at RM122,063 after 80 bids in just a minute.

The money will be donated to charity.

Meanwhile, in a live chat session later, Najib reiterated that he wanted to continue his late father's legacy to continue to develop the country and drive Malaysia to be among the top 20 nations in the world.

Najib, who is also the Finance Minister, said his late father, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, who was Malaysia's second prime minister, inspired him most to further develop Malaysia.

"My late father wanted to modernise Malaysia and develop rural areas beside bringing in new industries to the country.

"Unfortunately, he didn't live longer when he died at the age of 54. Now, God bless me, with the opportunity. I want to play the ultimate role to bring Malaysia to be in the top 20 nations.

"I am confident with the support of the people, God willing, we will," he said.

Earlier yesterday, Najib had officiated the groundbreaking ceremony of the KLIA Aeropolis DFTZ Park at Sepang International Circuit.
