Selangor state secretary Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi had denied the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) general manager Othman Omar’s statement that the state government had ordered the corporation to withdraw the letter dismissing Mohd Azmin Ali as one of the PKNS board of directors.

“Meanwhile, internal investigation is being conducted on the PKNS general manager and PKNS executive secretary to get to the bottom of the issue,” he said in a media statement, Tuesday.

He said media have been reporting the issue without getting the right information.

Without elaborating further, Mohammed Khusrin said PKNS had been asked not to give out any statements regarding the issue to avoid further confusion.

On Monday, Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim in a media statement had stressed that Mohd Azmin who is the Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyman dismissal on Jan 8, is maintained to avoid any legal complication.

Meanwhile, Othman and PKNS executive secretary Norita Mohd Sidek were transferred to the State Secretary’s Office starting Monday, pending an internal investigation on Mohd Azmin’s dismissal.

The move to drop Mohd Azmin was objected by many PKR leaders including its adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who had called on Abdul Khalid to reinstate the PKR deputy president.

However, Abdul Khalid after an exco meeting last week said that the decision to drop Mohamed Azmin was made by Othman and that the executive committee had only assent to it.

The menteri besar's statement was dismissed by Norita who said the power to appoint the members lay in the hands of the state executive council chaired by Abdul Khalid and not Othman, in line with Clause 4(1) of the PKNS Enactment.

Norita said Mohamed Azmin's dismissal was also endorsed by the state executive council last December.
