Police are working with Interpol to find three women and a girl, believed to be foreigners, in a case involving the theft of a RM5.2 million ring last Thursday.

Kuala Lumpur CID deputy chief ACP Khairi Ahrasa said they were still gathering information to identify these individuals.

"We believe they are still in the country. We have asked the Immigration Department at the exit points in the country to help find them," he said when contacted by Bernama Sunday.

In the incident which occurred at about 3pm, the women and girl were reported to have entered an exclusive jewellery outlet in a shopping centre in Bukit Bintang.

The girl, aged between eight and 10, was believed to have taken the key to the glass showcase before stealing the ring and placing the key back in its original place.

The police had formed a special team to track down the suspects.
