KANGAR: The Public Service Commission (PSC) is ready to conduct job interview sessions virtually in line with current needs and technology.

Its chairman Tan Sri Zainal Rahim Seman said the implementation of virtual interviews would provide more options and flexibility to the candidates and panels involved as well as save costs.

"In line with current technology, all PSC interview centres except in Sabah and Sarawak will be equipped with the Interview Registration System (IREG) which functions as a self-service interview system," he told reporters after the opening of the PSC Interview Centre at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC), here today.

Zainal said amid the COVID-19 pandemic, PSC had conducted virtual job interviews for several civil service posts and it had received positive feedback from the public.

Meanwhile, he said a total of 6,654 interviews involving various positions and grades were conducted in Perlis from 2021 to May this year.

Zainal said PSC had also collaborated with several government agencies and departments in Perlis to conduct interviews at their premises.

"PSC hopes that the establishment of the Perlis PSC Interview Centre will have a big impact and ensure a smooth interview process for every candidate in the state," he said.
