IPOH:Maintenance work of roads in the Ipoh City Council (MBI), involving an allocation of RM27.1 million, begins today, said Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin.

He said the work, scheduled to complete this Nov 23, would involve Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Kelab Golf, Jalan Toh Puan Onn Zariah, Jalan Klebang Selatan, Jalan Tasek Damai, Lengkuk Tawas Baru, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Jalan Perpaduan and Lebuh Bandar Baru Tambun, covering 25.2 kilometre.

The allocation for the road maintenance was from the federal government  and channeled under the Malaysian Road Record Information System (MARRIS), he told a media conference here today.

He said the maintenance work would disrupt smooth traffic flow and advised residents and road users to cooperate by complying with the road signs and notices.

“Maintenance work in the city centre will be carried out at night and we try to avoid doing the work during peak hours," he added.
