A third suspect linked to the gang assault of a woman in Wakaf Mek Zainab last month over the latter's alleged love affairs has been detained.

The 22-year-old woman was picked up at a parking area about 5.30pm yesterday, in the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport, Pengkalan Chepa.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Mazlan Lazim said the suspect was remanded for four days, beginning Saturday.

This brings to three, the number of women nabbed over the assault, supposedly due to a misunderstanding over the victim's alleged affairs with the fiance of one of the suspects and ex-husband of another.

A video of the victim, in her 20s, being beaten up by a group of women also went viral on Facebook.
It is learnt the main suspect in the case was charged at the Kota Baharu Magistrate's Court on Oct 30.

Another suspect, aged 21, was detained on Nov 15 at a restaurant in Panji and remanded for four days before the remand order was extended an additional four days, from Nov 19.
