Visiting Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, General Sheikh Mohammed Zayed Al Nahyan, was accorded an official welcome at Bangunan Perdana Putra here.

The Crown Prince, who is also Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces, was received by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The national anthems of the two countries were played by the Royal Malay Regiment band, and Sheikh Mohammed Zayed inspected a guard-of-honour.

The two leaders proceeded to a four-eyed meeting before witnessing the signing of several agreements between Malaysia and the UAE.

Meanwhile Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today signed an agreement to establish a RM18 billion Aabar-1MDB strategic partnership to focus on making sustainable investments in important high-impact projects.

The agreement also paves the way for Abu Dhabi to set up a RM21 billion crude oil and petroleum storage facility off the coast of Tanjung Piai in Johor.
