Only 12 areas have recorded unhealthy air pollutant index (API) readings as of 9 am today, compared to 22 last night.

The Department of Environment in its portal stated that Port Klang recorded the highest API reading at 134 compared to 147 last night, followed by Shah Alam (126); Banting (118); Petaling Jaya (112); and Pasir Gudang, Johor (111).

Other areas are Putrajaya (110); Port Dickson (108); Seremban, Kuala Selangor and Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (106); and Bandaraya Melaka and Bukit Rambai (102).

Thirty-eight areas recorded moderate air quality.

An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and 300 and above, hazardous.
