Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) is urging all its members to stay united and put all differences aside, as it prepares for the coming general election.

"At this crucial time, we must put aside all our differences and disagreements, and work as one for the good of MCA and Barisan Nasional so that we can bring about an outstanding victory to the BN coalition.

"We must also beware of the baseless rumours and unconfirmed reports being circulated around so that we will not fall into the traps set by the opposition parties. Instead, we must base our facts on the announcements made by the party’s Central Committee.

"The leaders at every level of the party, as well as our members, must unite together and lend our full fighting strength so that we can work towards ensuring the wellbeing of our nation’s future and our future generations," said MCA secretary-general Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha in a statement this morning.

Kong's statement came after MCA president Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek announced that he does not plan to compete in the upcoming general election.
