KUALA LUMPUR: Anyone, including the UMNO Supreme Council (MT) members and Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, can be punished if proven to be cooperating with PKR and DAP.

Sabak Bernam UMNO division chief, Datuk Abd Rahman Bakri, said this was in line with the decision of the UMNO president and the MT itself that stated the party will not violate its policy of 'No DAP, No Anwar'.

He explained that the cooperation also includes Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

"We are of the opinion that (Datuk Seri) Ismail Sabri represents the MT including the president, deputy president, vice presidents.

"If action is to be taken, any leader who wants to work with PKR, DAP and must add Bersatu, because MT has decided not to cooperate with Bersatu.

"Disciplinary action (must be taken against), no matter what the level of position or at the divisional leadership level, don’t just impose at the level below," he said when contacted on Sunday.

On Saturday, UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob stressed that disciplinary action would be taken if there were UMNO members and leaders who were found to be cooperating with PKR and DAP.

He said the party's top leadership had decided not to cooperate with the parties and had never budged from the decision.

Jeli UMNO acting division chief Datuk Aziz Derashid had previously stressed that Ahmad Zahid needed to explain to the grassroots about the alleged issue of cooperation with DAP-PH during the president's policy speech at the UMNO General Assembly (PAU) at the end of this month.

He said it will dispel various speculations spread on social media on the issue.

Earlier, the media reported that PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did not rule out the possibility of collaborating with UMNO, although discussions on it had not been done formally.

Anwar was reported to have said that the cooperation was supported by several leaders and MPs from UMNO and it would become a reality if the party was determined to sever ties with Bersatu.
