KUALA LUMPUR:All five Members of Parliament (MPs) from Parti Pejuang Tanah Airku (Pejuang) will bring a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in the next Dewan Rakyat sitting.

Pejuang’s pro-tem information chief Dr Maszlee Malik said the decision was taken due to Muhyiddin's failure to govern during the COVID-19 pandemic and also doubts about the majority number he had.

"It is hereby informed that the Pejuang pro-tem committee meeting on 15 October 2020 has decided that the five Pejuang MPs will bring a motion of no-confidence against the prime minister.

"The five Pejuang MPs who have sent the no-confidence motion to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun are Langkawi MP, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad; Jerlun MP, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir; Kubang Pasu MP , Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah; Seri Gading MP, Datuk Dr Sharuddin Mat Salleh and Simpang Renggam MP, Dr Maszlee Malik," he said in a statement, here, on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Gua Musang MP, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah urged that the motion brought by Dr Mahathir should be submitted in the Dewan Rakyat.

The matter was revealed by Tengku Razaleigh through a letter he sent to Azhar Azizan on September 25.
