Selangor PAS assemblymen who are state executive councillors (excos) must step down from their posts following the decision by PAS' Shura Council calling on PAS to sever political cooperation with DAP, said Selangor UMNO liaison committee chairman, Datuk Seri Noh Omar.

He also challenged the DAP to leave the opposition coalition if the party was committed not to enter into any agreement with PAS.

"We do not want all this political charade. If there are still PAS excos or assemblymen supporting them (DAP) when the ties are already severed, then PAS assemblymen (in Selangor) should resign," he said.

He was speaking to reporters after attending state-level Al-Quran recitation programme at Masjid Puncak Alam, on Sunday.

Yesterday, Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad said PAS in the state will continue cooperation and ties with DAP in Selangor until receiving official instructions from the party's Central Working Committee (JKPP) on its political cooperation with DAP.

Iskandar said the ties and cooperation were based on government positions such as excos, councillors and village heads and will be continued in order to maintain the trust the people put in them in the 13th general election.
