SETIU:The Perikatan Nasional (PN) Government led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is not threatened with the withdrawal of support from Machang Member of Parliament, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Parliament and Law), Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan, said PN with the support of 110 MPs is still a valid government and will continue the responsibility of governing the country.

"I got the information on the withdrawal of support through the media yesterday. I also do not understand his goal or intention. Anyway, the current government is valid and has a sufficient number (of Members of Parliament).

"The important thing is that this government has been functioning well since March until now. The people can also see how the current government works well. So, we (the government) will continue to serve through government organisations at all levels,” he said.

Takiyuddin, who is also PAS secretary-general, said this when met by reporters after visiting the Sessions Court and Magistrate’s Court, here, on Sunday.

On Saturday, Ahmad Jazlan from Barisan Nasional (BN) announced to withdraw support for Muhyiddin as Prime Minister.

Apart from that, Padang Rengas Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, claimed that more UMNO MPs are expected to follow in the footsteps of Ahmad Jazlan and withdraw support for the government.
