Tan Wee Kiong, silver medalist in the badminton doubles at Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, today received a RM100,000 incentive from the Sabah government and private agencies.

The incentive was presented by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman at Sri Gaya, the official residence of the Sabah chief minister.

Earlier, Wee Kiong made a courtesy call on Musa accompanied by Sabah Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan.

At the event, Musa congratulated Wee Kiong and hopes that more youths in Sabah would emulate the badminton player's commitment to achieve success.

Wee Kiong presented the jersey and cap he wore while in Rio to Musa and also posed for a photograph with the silver medal won in the Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, Johor-born Wee Kiong, who moved to Tawau at 12 years old said he will be back in training to prepare for the Japan Open in mid September.
