Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) today announced a four-year sponsorship for Olympic divers, Pandelela Rinong and Nur Dhabitah Sabri.

The support starts in 2016 leading up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games.

"Nur Dhabitah and Pandelela are national heroes, the nation was glued to the media tracking their moves in Rio this year. They showed that through hard work, focus and determination, we can achieve great things.

"For our staff, they are a tremendous example of success and we are proud to be associated with them. I look forward to following their achievements and challenges and wish them well on their goal for gold for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games," said Chief Executive Officer, Peter Bellew in a statement issued today.

The four-year sponsorship covers all-inclusive return travel on business class within Malaysia, financial sponsorship for their training programme and travel to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Pandelela, who partnered Cheong Jun Hoong, won Malaysia's first medal in Rio when they won the silver medal in the women's synchronised 10m platform, while in the indivual 10m platform finals, Nur Dhabitah, who is making her debut at the Olympics ended in ninth place and Pandelela in 11th place.
