Deadline.com has revealed that Bradley Cooper is to replace Jude Law in "Jane Got a Gun," a Western produced by Natalie Portman.

Cooper is in talks to play the leader of a gang of outlaws who decide to kill one of their own after severely wounding him.

Natalie Portman will play the wife of the threatened man. Her character will call on an old lover, played by Joel Edgerton, to defend her farm, her life and her husband's life.

Filming on "Jane Got a Gun" started in March. Over the past few weeks, director Lynn Ramsay has backed out of the project along with actors Michael Fassbender and Jude Law. The movie is now being directed by Gavin O'Connor.
