KUALA LUMPUR:UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan has revealed that 147 of the 189 UMNO divisions have rejected cooperation with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

However, he explained, the central UMNO is gathering all the motions raised to be brought to the UMNO Supreme Working Council (MKT) meeting tomorrow.

According to him, all 189 UMNO divisions had convened their meetings from January 1 to 3 which saw 147 UMNO division heads rejecting the cooperation.

"The motions are still being sent to us. There are 756 meetings in all," he said in a press conference shortly after the meeting between UMNO President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the UMNO division heads at the World Trade Centre (WTC) here on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Kelantan UMNO Liaison Body, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub in a separate press conference stressed that Kelantan UMNO also decided to end their cooperation with Bersatu.

According to Ahmad Jazlan, the decision was made on the basis of the principle of defending UMNO from being bullied by Bersatu.
