KUALA LUMPUR:A total of 150 Grade UD41 contract medical officers who have completed their housemanship have been offered permanent positions, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

He said the offer is in line with applications for permanent appointments that were approved by the Public Services Commission on Sept 21.

“It is also a continuation of the previous permanent appointment to Grade UD41 (contract) medical officers from the May 2017 cohort,” he said in a statement here today.

Dr Adham said the placement of these medical officers would only be in health offices and facilities in Sarawak taking into account several factors including job vacancies.

He said they were asked to report for duty at the Sarawak Health Department on Oct 2.

“Of the total 150 officers offered, 66 (44 per cent) are those born in Sarawak, while the remaining 84 officers (56 per cent) are from the peninsula,” he said.

Dr Adham said with these offers, all Sarawak-born contract medical officers from the cohort who fulfilled the criteria of permanent appointment have been offered permanent positions.
