The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s Anti-Corruption Advisory Board (ACAB) hopes that the Conference of Rulers will voice its opposition against an alleged attempt by an individual to offer RM2 million to the Sultan of Johor for a “Tan Sri” title.

Board chairman Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim said he welcomed the decision by the Sultan of Johor and other Malay rulers on their firm stand to curb corruption.

He said that not only are the people coming forward to support MACC but the country’s rulers are voicing out their stand too.

He is hoping that the Conference of Rulers as a group can give their open support and that will encourage the MACC to do its tasks effectively.

Tunku Abdul Aziz made the statement following a question whether he felt that other Malay rulers should follow the Sultan of Johor’s move on informing the MACC following an attempt by an individual to buy a title.
