Visitation activities during the festive season including Hari Raya Aidilfitri are allowed on the first day only and are limited to the immediate family members during the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said a special meeting of the National Security Council (MKN) had resolved the matter with a maximum of 20 people on the day.

He said the festivities include Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Pesta Kaamatan and even Hari Gawai.

“The number of 20 people need to take into account based on the size of the house.

"Let's say the flat is 600 square feet. If there are 20 people (guests) at a time, it may be too crowded and social distancing is not possible.

"Perhaps it is possible to allow only five people (guests) and can do it four times but the maximum is 20 people a day," he told a media conference here on Wednesday.

Ismail Sabri stressed that organising Aidilfitri open house was not allowed at all.

“Under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342), open houses are prohibited. Raya open house is not allowed.

“For example, in Bahrain, a family holds a breaking of fast get together and it is attended by 16 family members.

"In the end, all 16 were found to be COVID-19 positive," he said.

During the visits on hari raya, the public is also advised to practise standard operating procedures (SOPs) such as practising social restraint and regularly washing hands and providing sanitizer fluids.
