SINGAPORE: Singapore has reported 16 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection for the past 24 hours, reportedly the highest number of community cases since July last year.

In its brief data released today, the republic's Ministry of Health (MOH) said these cases are in the community, and there are no new cases in dormitories.

The other eight are linked to Case 62541, a 46-year-old female Philippine national who is a nurse at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

In addition, there are 19 imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

In total, there are 35 new cases in Singapore today, bringing the total tally to 61,121.
