KUALA LUMPUR:DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) came forward to give a word to Pakatan Harapan Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to apologise for his action in asking the Leader of the Whip of the opposition party not to support the 2021 Budget by-election.

According to DAPSY National Secretary Eric Teh Hioong Keat, the PKR president needs to apologise for his mistake or DAP should sever ties with the party.

"Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim must apologise openly to the people and his allies for his mistake, otherwise DAP should break away from PKR, dissolve Pakatan Harapan (PH) and reorganise the opposition in Malaysia," said DAPSY Secretary-General Eric Teh Hioong Keat in a statement on Friday.

Eric described the incident as the most embarrassing moment in DAP history and insisted that the words uttered by Pakatan Harapan were not consistent with their actions.

"The opposition is not only unable to send 15 MPs to reach the minimum voting conditions, but also continues to give way to the government of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to overcome obstacles easily. This frustrates Pakatan Harapan supporters."

Eric also described the explanation given by the opposition MPs as that they would only support the division vote motion at the committee level as well as the third reading as irresponsible.

For Eric, Anwar not only failed to restore PH's spirit in Parliament, but also destroyed the credibility of the former ruling party.

"If DSAI still insists that its assessment is correct and accurate, then DAP central leaders should separate from PKR, no longer allied with PKR,

"Let Pakatan Harapan be dissolved and establish minimal cooperation with other opposition parties," said Eric.
