Bukit Aman police seized various types of drugs worth RM10.44 million and detained 17,760 for various drug offences throughout last month.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim said police also seized properties worth RM4.97 million that belonged to drug traffickers, throughout the same period.

"In January we seized 831kg drugs (various types), 30,414 pills, 1,967 drugs in liquid form and 39 Ganja trees, all worth RM10.44 million," he told reporters, here on Tuesday.

The success was due to stringent enforcement and surveillance by the Bukit Aman Narcotics unit and the Special Narcotics Tactical and Intelligence Team (Sting).

"The two units worked very closely, discussing issues, exchanging information and data plus carrying out surveillance and investigations, before raiding the targetted drug traffickers," he said.
