KUALA LUMPUR: As of midnight Monday (July 26), Malaysia identified a total of 3,300 new COVID-19 cases , which brings the total tally to 4,654,951.

Based on the data from the COVIDNOW portal, there were 3,298 local transmissions and two new imported cases.

Kuala Lumpur registered the most number with 1,060 new infections, followed by Selangor (943).

According to the Ministry of Health, there were 5,227 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cases of those recovered and discharged to 4,572,712.

Meanwhile, active cases in the country now stands at 46,316, with 51 patients under intensive care, while 28 of them in need of ventilator support.

There were nine COVID-related deaths reported, pushing the death toll to 35,923.

Malaysia administered 14,654 COVID-19 vaccine doses on Monday.

About 85.9 per cent of the nation have received at least one dose, while 84 per cent fully inoculated.

MOH reported 49.5 per cent have received a first booster dose and 0.9 per cent have received a second booster jab.
