KUALA LUMPUR: The Movement Control Order (MCO) will be enforced in Sandakan district from April 17 to 30 while in Tawau district where it is scheduled to end tomorrow, the MCO has been extended to April 30.

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today, 46 new cases were recorded in Sandakan, bringing the cumulative number to 6,806 in the district.

"The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed that 78 cases were recorded within a period of 14 days with a high infectivity rate in this locality," he said in a statement on the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and MCO today.

On extension of the MCO in Tawau, Ismail Sabri said the MOH confirmed an increase in COVID-19 active cases from 124 to 729 within a period of 14 days.

"The MOH also reported the detection of many new cases in Tawau while the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) is being implemented at seven localities in the district," he added.
