KUALA LUMPUR:Perak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak confirmed that he had held talks with the state UMNO leadership on Saturday.

According to him, the meeting also touched on the new political alignment between the two parties.

In fact, he said, Perak PKR was open to hold any cooperation for the good of the people in the state.

"I have held discussions with the state leadership (PKR), the component parties’ leadership of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and also I have discussed with the UMNO leadership.

“Yes, there was and the last time was yesterday. Yes, it was discussed, it is up to UMNO and our party's top leadership to make a decision.

“Insya-Allah we think this matter can be resolved immediately. If we look at it, the House will start sitting on Wednesday," he added.

Meanwhile, Farhash stressed that if the new political alignment takes place to form a stable state government, UMNO must accept Pakatan Harapan (PH) en bloc and not just certain parties.

"There are no heavy conditions, only we as a component are bound with PH.

“They cannot choose PKR or other parties. PH component block are with the state government so that we can contribute in a meaningful way," he added when contacted by Astro AWANI on Sunday.

Commenting on the acceptance of the grassroots, especially involving cooperation with UMNO, PKR's rival since a long time ago, Farhash explained that the grassroots need to understand the political situation in the state.

"I think the political situation this time is not like before, it’s very fluid. I think the grassroots can understand the current situation where we need to fix the instability so that we can focus on the people's issues.

“In the history of Perak from 1999 until now, there has never been a dominant party, often close (thin majority).

“So, I think this will be a very formidable block, the coalition has more than two-thirds,” Farhash asserted.
