PUTRAJAYA:Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin held a meeting with all political party leaders at about 9.30 this morning.

The meeting is believed to discuss the decision of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah who rejected the declaration of Emergency yesterday.

The media focus on the entrance area of ​​Bangunan Perdana Putra since early this morning found that some key party leaders were also seen entering Bangunan Perdana Putra including PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and MIC President, Tan Sri S. A Vigneswaran.

The two party leaders are believed to have met with Muhyiddin at 9.30am before he chaired the Cabinet Special Meeting.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister  is also scheduled to chair a Cabinet Special Meeting to further discuss the same issue.

The Special Meeting was held to further discuss His Majesty's decree that there is no need at this time to declare a state of Emergency in this country or any part of Malaysia.

In this regard, several Cabinet ministers began to arrive to attend the special meeting including Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin; Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy), Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed; Minister of National Unity, Datuk Halimah Sadique and Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad.

The Prime Minister in a statement yesterday informed the Cabinet that they would discuss further His Majesty's decree that there is no need at this time to declare a state of Emergency.

The Prime Minister said the priority of the Cabinet and the government at present was to protect the people from the COVID-19 epidemic.

He welcomed His Majesty's trust in his government in implementing actions to curb the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the special meeting of the prime minister with all the menteris besar and chief ministers scheduled to take place this morning was cancelled.
