KUALA LUMPUR:Several sectors will be opened in phases starting tomorrow, December 19, namely the tourism, culture, sports and recreation sectors.

Senior Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said the opening of all sectors is in accordance with the SOP based on the location of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) or the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

"The tourism sector involved is MICE (meetings, initiatives, conferences and exhibitions).

"Second, tourism products such as the National Zoo, farms, extreme adventure and nature parks.

Third, exhibitions of cultural and heritage works such as museums, art galleries, libraries, cultural villages and cultural performance stages and fourth, theme parks.

"The capacity of visitors allowed is 50 per cent of the actual capacity. For stage performances, spectators are not allowed," he said in a daily press conference here, today.

As for the sports sector, only 10 per cent of spectators, or a maximum of 4,000 spectators are allowed.

"For example, Bukit Jalil Stadium has a capacity of 80,000. 10 per cent means 8,000 spectators. But we do not allow it because the maximum is only 4,000," he explained.
