KUALA LUMPUR: A woman died after allegedly receiving traditional treatment at a house in Pandan Perdana here yesterday.

Ampang Jaya Police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak in a statement said the 41-year-old woman was said to have fallen unconscious in the living room of the house after the treatment.

"Police received the distress call about the incident at 6.35 pm and the victim was pronounced dead by the paramedics.

"Following that, the traditional medicine practitioner, a 51-year-old woman, was detained to facilitate further investigations," he said.

Mohamad Farouk said an initial investigation found that the victim had frequented the house over the past week.
