KOTA KINABALU: Entrepreneurs, especially the younger generation, are advised not to be shy to approach agencies under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) for guidance, training and to help develop their businesses.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said this was because KUSKOP agencies including the National Institute of Entrepreneurship (INSKEN) and Tekun Nasional were equipped with various initiatives and programmes to help entrepreneurs develop businesses and increase sales.

He said the younger generation, in particular, should be nurtured and helped to become successful entrepreneurs to enable them to contribute to their families and the future of the country.

"Today's digital world also has many benefits for our entrepreneurs, our young generation also spends a lot of time on social media, so why not get involved in digital entrepreneurship by using social media as a platform to generate income?

"Entrepreneurial training, among which is digital-based, is also one of the areas the ministry (KUSKOP) is focusing on, including through INSKEN... so do approach our agencies for us to provide the necessary help," he told reporters here last night.

Earlier, he officiated the Sabah edition of the 2022 INSKEN Guidance Programme Graduation Ceremony, which was also attended by his deputy, Senator Saraswathy Kandasami, and INSKEN chief executive officer Muhd Firdaus Azharuddin.

Tonight, a total of 52 entrepreneurs from Sabah completed the four-month INSKEN Bumiputera Business Coaching programme for two industries, namely sewing and food and beverage sales.

Ewon said the training and guidance programme initiative from INSKEN was necessary to support several new approaches that would be outlined by KUSKOP, including focusing on entrepreneurship development in Sabah.
