UMNO Wanita chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said she was perplexed to read the Facebook posting of her former boss Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, criticising the party leadership in view of the recently-concluded Kedah crisis.

“I'm puzzled and shook my head in disbelief when reading her posting. For 22 years, Rafidah led us as Wanita UMNO chief and she had constantly reminded us to be disciplined and abide by party leadership especially to the president,” she wrote on her Facebook account today.

Shahrizat added that Rafidah's lack of respect for the party leadership was a testimony that she had given up the principles of the party.

She also said that Rafidah seemed trigger happy to demonstrate her open defiance for UMNO president's leadership and has coined mixed perceptions in regards to the recent happenings in the party and leadership.

“Rafidah used to be one who stands by her principle but she has fell prey for the Opposition’s games to weaken the party,” she wrote.

Shahrizat has pledged her loyalty to UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Razak and UMNO, the country's oldest political party.

In the Kedah crisis, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir had resigned from his Menteri Besar position after losing the support of the majority of the Kedah State Assembly.

He was replaced by Bakar Bata state assemblyman Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah who was sworn-in as the new MB on Feb 4.

Kedah's political scene has been heating up since Jan 20 following a declaration by the state UMNO leadership that it had lost confidence in Mukhriz as MB and state UMNO Liaison Committee Chairman.
