Johor Darul Ta'zim II held onto top spot of the Premier League after a comfortable 5-2 win over Kuantan FA at Pasir Gudang Municipal Council Stadium in Johor Baharu Friday night.

Harimau Selatan's five goals were scored by Shafiq Shahruddin (30' and 59'), team captain Shahril Ishak (36' and 56'), and Leandro Velazquez (74').

The two goals by Kuantan FA were contributed by Montenegrin, Milan Purovic, in the 33rd minute and Razreen Jesni in the 78th minute.

The Negeri Sembilan team (NS Matrix) remained in second place despite their 1-1 draw against SPA Putrajaya FC at the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council Stadium in Kelana Jaya.

The visitors opened the score sheet via Liberian, Forkey Doe in the 21st minute, before Nik Azlam Nik Januaha equalised for SPA Putrajaya FC in the 81st minute.

Meanwhile, Penang leapt over Sabah into third place after narrowly beating PKNS FC 1-0 through Beto Gancalves's penalty kick in the 44th minute at Penang City Council Stadium.

Low ranking team DRB Hicom FC claimed all three points after humbling Kuala Lumpur to a 1-0 defeat at the Proton Stadium in Tanjung Malim, Perak through Fakrul Aiman's goal in the 23rd minute.

At the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam, UiTM FC pulled of a shock win over Sabah, beating them 2-1.

The home team got off to a hot start with Raslam Khan's goal in the 22nd minute before he doubled the lead in the 42nd minute.

Sabah managed to halve the lead through Senegalese El Hadji Diouf at the tail end of the first half, but UiTM clinged on for the win.

Kedah and T-Team had to share a point each after they played out a goalless draw at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar.

Premier League action will resume on Mar 6, giving way to FA Cup first round action, which is scheduled for Feb 27 and 28.
