Swedish retail giant H&M is taking an increasing interest in sports.

After launching a range of underwear with David Beckham and a collection inspired by cycling, the brand has chosen sixth-seed Czech tennis player Tomas Berdych as its new brand ambassador.

The 27-year-old tennis player will be the face of the H&M collection on and off court. It is therefore the first time that a tennis player will wear clothes by the Swedish brand during matches.

Tomas Berdych will also work closely with the H&M design team to launch a tennis-inspired range.

"I am very excited about this partnership. This is H&M's first foray into tennis and it is very flattering for me to be their first ambassador...I'm sure we will do great things together," said the tennis player.
