KUALA LUMPUR:The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) arrested 487 individuals for disobeying orders of the Movement Control Order (MCO) on Sunday, said Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Out of the total, 470 individuals were compounded while another 17 were remanded.

"Among the offences of disobeying MCO instructions include failing to comply with physical distancing (205), entertainment centre activities (94), not wearing face masks (77), failing provide equipment to record customer details (59), and others (52)," he said in a media statement on Monday.

The PDRM Compliance Operations Task Force conducted 51,319 inspections yesterday to monitor and enforce compliance for the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RCMO).

"A total of 2,580 Compliance Teams involving 11,612 members have monitored 3,476 supermarkets, 4,545 restaurants, 1,605 hawkers, 1,283 factories, 3,131 banks and 512 government offices. Also monitored, a total of 949 land transport terminals, 247 water transport terminals and 81 air transport terminals" he added.

Meanwhile, Op Benteng yesterday managed to detain 25 illegal immigrants (PATI) and a skipper.

A total of 292 roadblocks (SJR) were implemented yesterday involving Op PENAWAR (ATM, PDRM and RELA) - 226 SJR, Op Benteng PDRM - 57 SJR, and Op Benteng AKSEM - 9 SJR.

"The government will take stern action against any party who tries to enter the country's borders illegally and enforcement agencies will continue to tighten border control, especially in rat lanes," he said.

Meanwhile, from April 20 to December 6, 2020, a total of 13,801 inspections were conducted by the enforcement members of the Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB) involving 7,930 construction sites nationwide.

"Yesterday, enforcement personnel inspected 15 construction sites throughout Malaysia and all construction sites inspected complied with the SOPs that have been set," he added.
