Syarikat Genting Highlands Transport Sdn Bhd today gave assurance that it will be issuing a statement on the bus accident in Genting Highlands on Wednesday, once investigations are completed.

The accident claimed 37 lives and left 16 others injured, some critically.

A staff member of the company, which is the operator of the bus involved, said the company felt now was not to right time to be making a statement.

"Not now...we have to wait for the investigation report from the authorities before issuing a statement.

"The situation now is very unclear...that is why we do not want to talk about the accident to the media," she said whent met the company's office here today.

Its buses ply the Kuala Lumpur-Genting Highlands route.

In the 2.22pm incident, the bus with 53 people on board went out of control and plunged into a 60-metre deep ravine at KM3.5 Jalan Genting Highlands.
