IPOH: Perikatan Nasional (PN) deputy chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu urged all parties to not sneer at any candidate by practicing matured political culture in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Ahmad Faizal said showing maturity in politics was important to ensure that the GE15 processes, including the campaigning period, can progress smoothly.

"I have reminded the election machinery and supporters to be ready for nomination day (tomorrow), we need to come out en masse and encourage each other and work hard during campaigns.

"I am also confident that supporters of other parties will do the same, I hope that we do not have to belittle the other party. We must go through the democratic process through a matured approach and not fight against each other," he said when met by reporters here today.

Asked about the Menteri Besar candidate if PN was given the mandate to govern Perak, Ahmad Faizal said the coalition does not want to pre-empt the GE15 results before the approval of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

The incumbent of the Tambun parliamentary seat is expected to face fierce competition from PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is also Pakatan Harapan Chairman as well as Tambun UMNO Division Chief Datuk Aminuddin Md Hanafiah.

The Election Commission (EC) set Nov 5 (tomorrow), for nomination, Nov 15 for early voting and Nov 19 is set as polling day.
